I have to admit, the long lines every time I walked past made me keep walking. But, after reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try...I do love food, after all.
I was very surprised, even with the super long line, I didn't wait more than 10 minutes, and my order was put together in less than 1 minute.
I'm sure they have loads of great dishes, but I wanted to try something that I've never seen anything like before. So, I went with the seitan grinder. The flavor was nice, if a little bland (do not skip the hot sauce, it's not super hot and without it, the sandwich may have no flavor at all). And, the pita gets way too soggy. On the plus side, the veggies inside were very nice, warmed through but not mushy.(If you've never had it before, seitan is made from wheat gluten and looks a lot like roast beef. The flavor is very mild, hardly even noticeable with the other flavors of the sandwich and mostly masked by the sesame seeds they put on it.)
The food is difficult, no impossible, to eat, though. I'm glad I took mine home because I emptied the contents of my pita and ate it more like a salad with pita bread on the side. The flimsy, little plastic forks really don't help all that much. I wouldn't recommend getting a sandwich here if you've got somewhere to go afterward...you'll probably end up with it all over your shirt.
All that said, I'd definitely recommend it, but I wouldn't make it a daily stop. -AK

The line is always pretty long, but you still will probably get your food faster than some of the other trucks in that row. That's also the downfall to Magic Carpet-- they don't actually make anything fresh. So while this is probably the truck I go to most often (it's convenient, great selection of good, awesome food you can't get at other trucks) the food is often just a little too mushy and flavorless. Make sure you get hot sauce with everything. -Ben Franklin

Overall, Magic Carpet has great vegetarian food. The chefs know exactly what they're doing and will not hesitate to correct your mistakes (like asking for tahini and tzatziki sauce on the same dish). Strongly recommended if you have the time to wait in line. Don't worry, it moves faster than you'd expect. -AG

Magic Carpet is absolutely delicious and has a large variety of food, all vegetarian. The lines can sometimes be kind of long, but each person can get their order in about a minute. -AH
