Lovash Indian Cuisine [closed]
Lovash is the new food truck by the owners of Lucky's -- the Mexican truck a bit to the east on Spruce. This truck, like Lucky's, is backed up by a full-service restaurant on South Street. While the food does not compare to some of the high-quality Indian fair available in Center City, it is more than decent and serves as a welcome addition to the lack of Indian options on campus. -AG

Great taste, but Pricy Thu, 24 Sep 2009

I really enjoyed the aloo tikki masala that I had, but it was not enough for a full lunch. If you're craving Indian food, it's definitely worth the $4 pricetag, but don't expect to have leftovers. -AG
Tummyache in a bowl Wed, 23 Sep 2009

Everything is premade and stored in vats in the truck, so the lines are quick. However, that doesn't make up for the rubbery chicken (which tastes exactly like the chicken from Lucky's) and the watered-down sauces. The difference between a bowl and a platter is 3 tiny pieces of naan and $1.50. Also, at least for now, their menu is extremely limited - just generic "curry" meats/veggies. The veggie options might be better, but for meat and appetizers, spend a few extra bucks and go to Sitar or Tandoor. -EL

The food tastes pretty good, but the portions are tiny! They don't even fill up the whole bowl, and even if they did it would still be pretty small. The food at the other Indian food cart can last me for 2 meals, this isn't even enough for one. I think it depends on who is working there, because one person actually fills the bowls. The platters don't give you much more. -Ben Franklin

Many, many, many times better than the other Indian truck on campus. The portions are appropriate (indian food is heavy, this will fill you up) and the prices are great. You can get a good veggie curry and be filled up for 1/3 of the price of going to one of sit-down buffets on campus, even if those are a lot better. This is convenient, cheap, and tasty. My new favorite truck. -Ben Franklin

finally an Indian food truck on campus that has tasty food.
portions do not look huge but with indian food that is generally heavy - this is good enough. better off not taking the platter and paying extra $1.50 for it. -dkoka
Good for Veggie Options Tue, 29 Sep 2009

I've tried a couple other Indian food carts and their food is the most tasteless stuff around the Penn area. Lovash actually uses spices in their cooking, even in the rice. The portions are relatively small (Compared to the chinese food trucks), but if you're craving some indian food for one meal, its a great choice. I haven't tried their meat options, so I can't comment there, but their vegetable curries have some taste and contain assorted veggies. -ABG
