Rami's
No matter how out of the way a truck is, I'll keep going if the owner is nice. This is the case with Rami's, a truck that I continue to visit even though it is only open at lunchtime, when I have no classes nearby. However, if I have to go to the post office, you can be sure that I'll stop by for a falafel and to be offered "ice cold beer". -AG

Going to 40th street is usually not desirable, but to get one of Rami's falafels I will make the trip every time. A full 50 cents cheaper than Magic Carpet, you get a bigger pita filled with falafel and veggies. And they guy who works there (his name is not Rami) is one of the nicest food truck owners around. -Abhi

I just went there for the first time. I got the falafel feta pita sandwich -- by far the best one I've had on campus. The ingredients were much fresher. He must use locally grown tomatoes or something, because the tomatoes on my pita were better than anything I've found in groceries around here. He was really friendly and obviously had good rapport with some regulars at the truck. I just wish it was closer to the hospital where I work. -Ben Franklin

FWIW, the owner goes by Sam. Rami is one of his family members. Was it his niece? I can't remember, it's been a few years. Overall he's a funny guy with all sorts of Rami-isms like: "You want drink?" "How about ice cold beer?" "What can I get for nice young lady?"
Anyway, I've traveled to many places in the world and I still think Rami's has the best falafel on the planet. They're Lebanese style with crispy exterior, warm soft interior, nicely spiced filling with slightly grainy texture. Awesome.
Why mess around? I just get the falafel platter to have 6 of them all to myself.
Overall I think the middle eastern food here is the best in the city. Amazing (depressing?) that it is from a food truck. It's far out of the way from most of campus and the truck can be very slow, especially if there's a line, so I use it to cheer myself up after a visit to the dental school. If you see the guy with food drooling out of his mouth eating a falafel platter, say hi. -Neuronix
