Magic Carpet at 34th/Walnut [closed]
Best vegetarian option on campus. Lines can be brutal, and for the amount of food, the price is a little high. Taste is great though and there are a variety of options. -AH

I want to correct my initial review by noting that the food here is amazing if you do not order the Falafel. Yes, it seems insane to order anything else from a place called Magic Carpet, but trust me. Every other dish is crème brûlée to the falafel's Edy's Ice Cream.
The woman is especially friendly at this Magic Carpet and always encourages new customers to use a fork to eat the pitas she prepares. Warning: obey her every word. -AG

I've only been to this truck once, but the food was mediocre at best and was very messy. I might review again if I eat there again, but the line is always long around lunch time so I never get the chance. -AG

I absolutely love going to Magic Carpet.
I used to go there often enough and got the same thing (Foo Chow - Baked Tofu over Rice and Veggies with tahini, hot sauce, sesame seeds, soy sauce) that they know exactly what I order. The variety of lemonades and root beers still astounds me.
The proprietors are really nice. One time I forgot my wallet and the lady let me get my order anyway and pay her back later.
A few warnings: big line (~15-20 people); slightly higher price (~5.50); not meant to eat while walking, but fairly easy to take to class.

Long line, but it moves quickly, and there's a reason everyone's going here. Try the magic meatball or the seitan grinder; either one will tempt you to become a vegetarian. Note: These "sandwiches" are meant to be eaten at least partially with a fork.
Dazzling variety of interesting soft drinks. You might not be able to find coke, but there will be three varieties of birch beer. -Ben Franklin
Go to Alladin's... Wed, 24 Dec 2008

I work a block away at Trophy Bikes, but even still I will go out of my way to hit up Alladin's every time. Magic Carpet has a giant and tasty menu, but portions are small and prices are big. You're not going to get the food truck value here, and you're also going to wait a long time in line. Its a nice treat, def good quality and a change-of-pace, but probably not a standby lunch spot for most discerning food truck junkies. -Trophy Cliff

Hey, It's hard enough to get a decent vegy meal that has more flavor than a romain salad. Check out the lasagna...it's real! -Ben Franklin

They are friendly but the food is not that good and usually messy, so you have to eat, then go wash yourself before going anywhere else. Not worth it unless for the Magic Meatballs... -Falafel Junkie
