Hemo's at 37th/Spruce
Widely considered the best grilled chicken sandwich on campus, though I disagree (Khan's is better and cheaper). Hemo's sauce makes the sandwich, which is very tasty. Sandwiches can get pricey if you want lettuce tomato, onions, and anything else, as you have to pay for each topping. Don't bother going for lunch if you are short on time. -AH

Second best grilled chicken sandwich on campus, IMO, but it is much more expensive. Go to Khan's unless you REALLY want Hemo's sauce. -Abhi

Basically the best chicken sandwich you will find at Penn. I think some of my fellow reviewers must be mistaking Hemo's for another cart, because it is always an amazing experience. And cheap. -Ben Franklin

I enjoyed their cheesesteaks, especially when it was only at $4. I real deal that everyone should try. -Ben Franklin

Hemo's is a Penn staple, but I don't see all the fuss about it. The people who work the cart are really great - they know their regulars, and they're really friendly to everyone. Their cheesesteaks are also pretty decent, but they get pricey as you pile on the toppings. Hemo's always has the longest lines during rush hours due to its long-standing popularity with students. Try it out. But I've never felt that Hemo's food was particularly good - there are better food carts out there. -AJ

The famous Hemo's chicken sandwich is indeed Penn's most popular meat-flavored sandwich. The bulk of it is composed of some sort of unidentifiable chicken product. (Granted, I ate there a few years back.) -CIS

All of the comparisons betweens Hemo's & Khans are a bit misguided. Their respective grilled chicken sandwiches are two entirely different experiences. Hemo Sauce, spinach & mushrooms makes for a fantastic sandwich. Even when busy, Hemo's moves each order along at a fast pace, and, while they're often too busy to really be friendly, they are never rude. -Scott

i've eaten there quite a lot. there are much better choices out there. there's something about their chicken that i can't quite place my finger on -- i think there's a lot of air in it. it's really not as much chicken as you think it is. i'm always really hungry after eating hemo's, even when it's only 1 hour later, and this doesn't happen to me when i eat an identical meal at khan's food cart (across from it). plus, they charge for every single condiment that you add. there are better choices out there -- clearly, this food cart is overrated. -Ben Franklin
